Researching the complexities of human-AI interactions
Carol J. Smith is a research scientist at Carnegie Mellon University and adjunct instructor for the CMU Human-Computer Interaction Institute. Her work focuses on enhancing AI and ML system design through UX research and HCI methodologies. She helps teams develop trustworthy artificial intelligence by enabling systems to demonstrate their capabilities and integrity, allowing users and affected parties to assess risk appropriately and adjust their confidence levels accordingly.
