The world of accessibility lost a good friend yesterday. Actor, director and activist Christopher Reeve‘s death has touched a lot of people, but the contributions he made in life will be remembered always.

He was a proponent of stem cell research and worked to fund research to cure Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, MS, ALS, stroke, and to repair damaged spinal cords. He also was a big proponent of disability coverage.

I hate to be one of the people remembering him mostly for his role as Superman, but I will. He and Mr. Rogers were both iconic in my youth and now they are both gone. What a sad day indeed.
