volunteering

May 2005 be one of great joy and peace for all. To kick it off right I’d like to introduce you to two organizations that I support and I hope you will find both interesting and worthy of your support.

Rabbis for Human Rights – RHR North America
http://www.rhr-na.org/ and http://www.rhr.israel.net/

RHR/NA is a rabbinic organization dedicated to education, advocacy, prayer and action in support of human rights. Its initial focus is on supporting the work of RHR/Israel.
RHR/Israel is the rabbinic voice of conscience in Israel, giving voice to the Jewish tradition of human rights. RHR/Israel promotes justice and freedom, while campaigning against discrimination and inhumane conduct.

The Friends of Robert Frost
http://www.frostfriends.org/
This is a much more lighthearted non-profit organization created to honor America’s favorite poet. They educate about Frost’s life and art and the historic preservation of the Stone House in Shaftsbury, Vermont. I hope to visit the house this year.

I recommend two sites that will help you find information on what you can do and where you can find information on the Tsunami.

Please make a donation of money, goods or time if you can to one of the listed organizations. Every little bit will help the survivors to be able to deal with the tremendous loss they have suffered.

Google has set up a great reference: http://www.google.com/tsunami_relief.html
