It’s a long running joke with many of my fellow Denison University graduates that given the current acceptance requirements we would have a much more difficult time getting in to our alma mater.

However, there is hope. Denison has taken the bold move of removing the requirement for applicants to submit their test results for SAT and ACT’s. They announced this in the “@denison” newsletter: http://www.denison.edu/@denison/2007_winter-spring/

*Don’t get me started on how annoying using the “@” sign is when you only need to write a “t.”

I visited Denison for my 10 year reunion last summer and I was impressed not only by the diversity I saw on campus, but how many people crossed those invisible cultural lines that usually exist between ethnic groups to socialize.

I’m very proud to be associated with a college willing to make this type of change in their admission policy to bring students with a variety of experiences to the campus.
